Bulgarian Superstitions

  • One of the superstitions in my country is when a black cat walks in front of you, it means bad luck.
  • Another superstition is Friday 13-th. On this day people are afraid because they think something bad is going to happen.
  • When you break a mirror, it means that you will lose your love for 5 years.

My holiday

My last holiday was very exciting and interesting for me. On Christmas day, I went with my family to our friend's house for dinner. The food was delicious. We talked all the time and listened to music.

On New Year's Eve we went to a restaurant. There were lots of people and we watched fireworks on T.V. It was a wonderful evening for me and also it was my first New Year in Australia.

A few days later I went shopping and also watched some interesting films in the cinema. It was a really hot summer, so my sister and our friend and I decided to go to Jamberoo. It was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

The rest of the time I stayed at home and relaxed. I watched T.V. and talked with my friends on the computer.

On Australia Day my family and I went to the city and spent a very good time there. We walked around and saw very nice views of Darling Harbour and the Opera House.

I'm very happy that I did a lots of interesting and different things this holiday.

About me

Hi, I'm Gergana. I come from Bulgaria. I have been in Australia for 4 months. I live in Kogarah with my family. I have a younger sister. She is 17. My father has been here for 12 years, but I came with my sister and my mother.

In my country I lived in a small town near the capital. I have a lot of friends there and they miss me so much. I like Australia very much. People are very friendly and always ready to help you. I would like to continue my education in the future because in my country I started to study in university but I stopped. I'm very happy that I have a chance to improve my English. I would also like to get a good job.
